The picturesque coastal town of Flekkefjord is the westernmost municipality in Agder county. The city is located approximately midway between the cities of Kristiansand and Stavanger.
Back in the 1500's and 1600’s, Flekkefjord had strong trade relations with the Netherlands and a lot of Dutch people moved here. That’s why an area of the city center is called Hollenderbyen, or The Dutch Quarter in English. Today’s population is estimated to be 9.000 inhabitants. There is a hospital in the city.
